The 2011 Ford Mustang V6

Around the globe, Ford’s performance-tuned cars are known to provide an uncompromised driving experience in a remarkably civilized package. Growing from that tradition, the new 2011 Ford Mustang V6 will offer an optional factory-installed Performance Package that combines high-tech horsepower and a taut suspension in a package that will appeal to track-day fans and sports car aficionados alike.
Powered by a 305-horsepower all-aluminum Ti-VCT V6, the Performance Package takes advantage of the new engine’s lightweight and high-revving nature to deliver a nimble performance car equally at home on a road course or a road trip.
“The new Performance Package delivers on fast, fun and affordable, combining the all-new 2011 V6 with Ford Mustang GT prowess,” said Dave Pericak, Mustang chief engineer. “It’s a true sports car for the new generation and a smart choice for the environmentally-conscious enthusiast. It is a perfect marriage of power, performance and value.” You can expect to get about 30 mpg…
2011 Mustang Performance Package upgrades include:
- A 3.31 rear axle ratio for quicker off-the-line acceleration
- Ford Mustang GT coupe front and rear stabilizer bars
- Ford Mustang GT front struts and rear shocks/springs
- Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 rear lower control arm
- Unique 19-inch wheels and Pirelli performance tires
- Ford Mustang GT front and rear brake calipers with Performance pads
- A strut tower brace for increased body rigidity
- Unique electronic stability control calibration with Sport mode
- Unique badging
The 2011 Ford Mustang V6 Performance Package will be available beginning late summer 2010, built at the Auto Alliance International Plant in Flat Rock, Mich. The new 3.7-liter V6 will be built at Ford’s retooled Cleveland Engine Plant No. 1. Ahh, the Cleveland!
Anyway, this video is a montage showing some of the car’s features. Enjoy!

Dude that new 5.0 is going to absolutely crush those nissan’s.. the debate is over dude. The v-6 mustang will give em a run now.
Those nissan engines are so strung out at 11:1 compression, they can’t get any more hp out of em without a turbo. Even then they’ll blow em up due to the compression being so high. Yes there are turbo Z’s, but they’re not factory with warranties.

Yea but far from 30 mpg. That was my point.

I’m goin’ nuts they’re changing mustangs its awesome …but Infinite G37 and nissan 370 both have over 300hp with a v6 and there N/A.

Whats the MSRP gonna be??

305 hp and 30mpg. NO naturally aspirated japanese engine has those numbers.

Actually, I don’t even think you’d even need to retune the ecu or put better pulleys on it. A better intake, an exhaust with no back pressure, and a ported out throttle body should be over kill for those pos $35,000 Nissans. You gotta remember, imports don’t have torque, buddy.

@89BALLIN99… The cobra would win because of the bigger power band, most dohc motors make most of their power mid to high range

Finally one of the true american icons gets its place with the competition. I expect some enthusiast to alter the intake, exhaust, computer, pulleys, throttle body and we are going to see some of this ponies hand to hand with the magnificent importers such as the 370Z nissan, G37 and the like. In this times when America needs to be competitive once again, this pony is remarkably wonderful and I can’t wait to see the GT 5.0

with the gt at that much hp it would like to see the 2011 gt vs 2003 cobra

anyone—is ford coming out with a new 5.0 engine pushing over 400hp?????

It’s about time ford is starting to give this car some power in the v-6, but still there are other v-6’s making way more power.

If the Challenger had a V6 with 300+ hp and 30mpg with either the camaro or mustangs interior I’d buy one…but it’s V6 is unimpressive and it’s interior way too corporate bland. Can’t wait for the New V6 mustang vs V6 camaro shootouts
