  1. BMW is behind…look at Nissan Leaf…much better.

  2. It is true that nuclear fusion would be an unlimited inexhaustible source of energy. But even today after 50 years of research there are no working cases. And estimates are even more disappointing, something in the range of 25-50 years into future.

  3. Your equating of oil refinery to producing hydrogen is very wrong. To refine oil you take just a fraction of the energy that comes from the same oil. To produce hydrogen you need to use energy from outside and it takes more energy than the produced hydrogen will give you later, due to energy losses in the conversion process. Oil is very concentrated and cheap energy source in itself. Hydrogen is not an energy source, it’s just a mean of storing energy, just like your regular battery.

  4. It will however replace it and any drop in oil reliant cars to hydrogen or electric cars will be resisted. Hydrogen, yes of course, needs to be manufactured just the same as oil needs to be refined to produce petroleum, if the energy used in the process to create the hydrogen is sustainable then I see little issue. Nuclear Fusion is in the cards within the next couple of decades which is our get out of jail free card for our energy needs and environment, however it’s underfunded.

  5. It won’t kill off oil industry. Simply because 85% of world’s consumed energy comes from fossil fuels (petroleum, coal and natural gas). Currently there’s no other alternative able to power the world. I’m sure you’re aware that hydrogen is not a power source; it must be produced using electricity that in turn is produced using the said resources (and a few alternatives).

  6. Sad thing about the hydrogen car is that the tech has been around for decades but it took a bill in California, the worlds largest market, that said 10% of all cars sold in the state had to be fueled alternatively. So it could have been done decade or more ago, but there’s resistance within the industry to change too soon as you’ll kill off the oil industry. Take GM, they released an electrical car in the 90’s that was successful, but recalled and crushed them all when they realized what they made.

  7. I’d buy one if it came here.

  8. 20 years? That’s disappointing.

What is the gas for? Is it to power a motor which will do electrolysis through water creating (additional) hydrogen that way? I hope so.

    Cool.

  11. Fossil fuels are running out, buddy….

  12. Can’t bring it to the USA. It would be considered unAmerican. Your money HAS to go to Big Oil. Our world revolves around fossil fuels and bringing an alternative, clean, and renewable energy would most likely collapse our economy and the world’s as well.

  13. This is bull, I’m planning on buying a new bmw in the next few years but I would be inclined to buy it more if it was dual powered with hydrogen/gas. Bring it to USA. You think these would go up on ebay?

  14. The hydrogen car would also require large amounts of electricity with the creation and costly storage of the fuel. So we need renewable energies as our primary sources of electricity for these cars to be emission free.

  15. They’re not selling them anywhere, these are prototypes.

  16. Is hydrogen liquid or gas? They should already be selling these types of engines!!!

  17. Not just Americans, practically everyone.

  18. Things like this are shielded from the majority of the American community due to selfish greed induced by the government, although people really don’t understand that if everyone used hydrogen cars for two years the improvement that it could make on life as well as the surrounding environment.

  19. Great video thanks for sharing…I think using water as a fuel is a great idea as it is cheap and also environment friendly..so this is the best way to drive green and live with environment.

  20. Thanks for the video I think these kind of innovation and steps definitely help us to fight against the global warming. and I think water fuel powered car is also a great example in this category.
