Honda’s Hydrogen Powered Sports Car

The Hydrogen-Powered Honda FC Sport Concept Car

‘Green transportation’ was the theme at the most recent LA Auto Show, as car manufacturers displayed an assortment of hybrid, electric, and fuel efficient new cars. None of the cars displayed, though, were as stylish as this prototype Honda FC Sport Concept Car.

The futuristic looking sports car is a hydrogen powered, with a zero emission fuel cell. It seats 3 people, it’s lightweight and has a low center of gravity. And it uses a powerful electric motor to help it deliver performance approaching that of a supercar.

The FC Sport is still only a concept, and they don’t plan to put it into production anytime soon. But if Honda can create a design that’s fast, sexy, and ‘green’ using the hydrogen fuel cell, it should motivate other car companies to start building similar vehicles.

A Fun Afternoon In The Ferrari 458!

Using a mid-rear mounted 4.5-liter V8 engine making 562 horsepower, the 458 goes from 0-100 km/h in under 3.4 seconds on its way to a top speed of 325 km/h. The driver controls the engine with the Getrag F1 transmission, a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It has a 407 hp to tonne power-to-weight ratio, with a dry weight of about 1380 kg.
